The Reform of Adult Social Care and Support - Show Us You Care Campaign

The report set out the key elements of the Campaign recently launched by the Local Government Association regarding proposals in the draft Social Care and Support Bill and the need to address the future funding implications for local government.
The Chief Executive referred to the recent announcement by the Secretary of State for Health which appeared to supersede the purpose of signing up to the Campaign and it was suggested that the matter be noted pending further details.
The Cabinet resolved that:
The "Show Us You Care Campaign" be noted at this stage and further reports be presented when full details of the Government's measures for funding care and support become available.
Reasons: As set out in the report of the Chief Executive and to await further details of the announced measures.
